Ad quality standards
Ozone is committed to delivering a better advertising experience to consumers, brands and publishers.
2.1. In order to maintain a good quality of ads on publisher sites, Ozone will maintain block lists across all of its Ad Partners. The block list is split into three categories.
- i. High-risk categories, such as dating, politics and sex are blocked as standard.
- ii. Other news publishers and subscription businesses that might be competitive to your own interests.
- iii. Industry category and advertiser exclusions that enable the blocking of specific creatives that are known to be problematic, for example supplement adverts.
The above blocking policy is applied as standard.
3.1. In event of a complaint about an advert or the operations team discovering an ad that controverts Ozone or publisher blocking guidelines, Ozone will adhere to the following process:
- i. Ozone will make best efforts to identify the suspect ad with the information provided. This should include as many of the following as possible, to expedite the process: advertiser name, click through URL, user device type and browser the ad was seen on and ad script.
- ii. Using the above information, Ozone will work to identify the Ad Partner which is responsible for the ad.
- iii. Ozone will then manually block the ad with the Ad Partner or contact the Ad Partner to raise the concern directly.
- iv. If an advert appears on one Publisher which obviously contravenes all Publisher guidelines Ozone will alert all of its Ad Partners to the problem such that any repeat instances from other sources can be blocked pre-emptively.
- v. All new blocks are then added to the Ozone master blocklist.
3.2. Requests from a Publisher for new blocks to be implemented should be sent to [email protected] along with the information outlined in (i) above. Ozone will then work to identify and block the ad within 12 working hours with confirmation by reply to the original email request.
