Towards the end of 2022 and into the early stages of 2023, Ozone worked with independent environmental consultancy Green Element to audit the carbon footprint of our business and create recommendations for future emission reduction.
This process was led by Dora Michail-Clendinnen, Ozone’s Chief Strategy Officer, who said, “Since launch, and across our entire business, we have always strived for a better, more sustainable future for digital advertising. Over the past few years, we have been increasingly focused on driving environmental sustainability, primarily through a number of engineering work streams. This audit and the commitments we have made off the back of it, will be critical for maintaining and expanding this focus in the coming years.”
The table below highlights Ozone’s 2022 carbon footprint, split by scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions. The vast majority of our emissions are scope 3.
Despite being a relatively small proportion of our total emissions, we have committed to reducing scope 1 and 2 emissions in excess of 40% by 2030.
For our scope 3 emissions, we have committed to reducing these by in excess of 50% by 2030. A programme of initiatives has already begun to identify and action these reductions. In addition, and subject to the publicly stated aims of our cloud partners, we are committing to our owned platform being carbon net zero by 2030.
