Ozone shortlisted for two prizes at the Media Week Awards

It’s double delight for The Ozone Project team as we are shortlisted for two prizes at this year’s Media Week Awards

We are absolutely thrilled to have received not one but two prestigious prize nominations at the 2022 Media Week Awards, in the Media Brand of the Year and Sales Team of the Year categories.

In both categories, we’ll be up against some of the industry’s fiercest competitors including Pearl & Dean, ITV, Hearst UK, Mail Metro Media, LADbible and The Independent. Congratulations to all the other nominees and good luck for the awards bash on Thursday October 20th - we will see you there!

Below are two excerpts from our Media Brand of the Year and Sales Team of the Year Media Week Awards entry submissions.

Media Brand of the Year

Ozone powers the premium web, a safe haven for brands across the open internet. Built by four of the UK’s leading publishers, Ozone was designed to address the persistent problems that have plagued digital advertising over the past few years by offering premium solutions to each of its primary stakeholders.

For advertisers and their agencies, this means scaled data and results-driven solutions, packaged in a way that is incredibly easy to activate – while for publishers it means an incremental audience-sell to complement their own direct sales efforts. This also creates a huge amount of upside for society at large, both in fuelling the free information economy, as well as creating a more controlled and compliant programmatic ecosystem that is more sustainable through lower energy use.

Be it in terms of growth, product development or performance, Ozone has had an exceptional twelve months, with highlights including:

  • Total revenue growth of +78% with advertiser count up 87%

  • 2x increase in premium publisher revenue via Managed Demand products

  • New products launched for both advertisers and publishers including: Ozone Ad Manager Insights, the Ozone Attention Index, Ozone Outcomes, Ozone Stories, and Ozone Biddable Management

  • Average NPS score of 60 across our client and publisher services teams

  • 60% growth in Team Ozone, with the launch of our new Early Careers programme and opening of our first hub office in Manchester

Sales Team of the Year

Four years into Ozone’s journey and our incredible commercial success can be summed up in two words, Simply Premium. With a focus on the impact of our customer-facing teams – be they in advertiser, agency or publisher sales – this entry demonstrates how an exceptional twelve months for Ozone is shaping a more sustainable future for digital advertising through the premium web.

In the past year, our team has collaborated with agencies, advertisers and publishers to develop new products to drive greater advertising success within premium environments. We’ve created a huge appetite for our premium proposition through consistent, benchmark-busting results. We’ve focused on diversity both within our team and across our platform.

We’ve rebalanced our team with even more gender parity, structured opportunities for graduates and school leavers, all while driving promotions from within. At the same time, we’ve complemented our large, high traffic publishers with smaller premium partners who deliver on interest-based or diverse community-driven content.

This all translates into an exceptional twelve months for our team, with highlights including:

  • +78% total revenue growth with advertiser count up 87%

  • +30% increase in retained clients, with their revenue up +53%

  • +125% increase in regional hub revenue

  • +29% growth in number of publisher groups

  • Average NPS score of 60 across our client and publisher services teams
