Reading the Nation: 7 days to Sunday 6th June

Thanks to our reach of over 99% of the UK’s online population, Ozone’s single user view of content consumption provides unrivalled insights to the stories that matter to our readers all across the UK.

As such, we bring you Reading the Nation with The Ozone Project, a new weekly insight-driven overview into the content and topics that are catching light among our highly attentive, frequently returning readers.

This week's Reading the Nation: the 7 days to 6th June focuses on our travel content, as on Thursday 3rd June the UK Government updated its overseas travel list, which saw Portugal turn from green to amber.

In the 7 days to Sunday 6th June we saw:

  • With 21.2m pages views and 5.2m unique users, travel engagement and reader numbers grew to record levels for 2021 - up +23% and +19% week on week respectively

  • Elsewhere, Brits enjoyed positive news with the announcement of a special four-day bank holiday in 2022 to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, which drove 3.6m page views for related content

  • And finally, Brits’ love affair with lockdown pets continued, as engagement with Pets content increased by +50% week on week to 2.3m page views, with a range of content suitable for animal lovers - from pet-friendly staycation options to looking after your pup in the summer heat
